Lightbulb How I launch on Nitto drag radials

Hope that this is the right area for my post but I would figure I would share with you guys how I launch my 2002 Pontiac WS6 automatic with 3.73 gears on the street with my Nitto 315-35 Z17 drag radial on a stock 02 WS6 rim. I normally go to 20lbs. on the street and pump the brake pedal twice and on the second pump hold it down and engage the slp line lock and the car holds. I then proceed to hit the gas/ rev it up to about 2300-2500 rpm and sit there until I get a pretty good smoke show not a john force burnout but until there is enough smoke so that I can't see out my back through my rear view mirror, I then slow down to a shade above idle normally 1000rpm and dissengage the line lock and floor it once really quick while the tires are still spinning and then go stage. While I stage I rev the stock transmission with trans-go shift kit level 3 up to 1300rpm and then lauch. The tires will break loose very little maybe a chirp and then you are gone, read in the kill section to see how I launched against an supercharged 90ish mustang Gt convertible on MT ET slicks.
You have to remember that when I do street race it is at 2am and on a desolate service road to the highway with sound deadening walls next to it so the people can't hear the highway noise. I normally have somebody flag the race and ask the person if they want to do a burnout and what lane they want. Since it is so late I can afford the time to plan out what we will do because at that time or later/earlier in the mourning there is not that much most of the time if any traffic on the street let alone this section of highway service road. I do not try and do the stoplight races because I don't have the luxury of setting my car up properly to get the full 1/4 mile run in.
The reason why most of me and my friends do this is because the track by us just closed down and the nearest one is about a 2 hour drive to get to and costs about 70dollars including tolls for maybe 2 trips down the track and it is harder when they close at 10pm or earlier. If there was a track that was open later or maybe even 24hrs and cost like 10bucks or so to race, hehe that would probably cut down on the street racing. That is my opinion and take it for what it is worth. Enjoy the read, look forward to hear/read some of your feedback.
