Weight Loss, Seats Im in the process of doing a cage and I am now thinking this might be a good time to replace the seats to lose some weight. What would you guys recommend? I want something that is still comfortable, but is very light, and around $350 or less per seat. Any of the Corbeau seats?????
How much do the corbeau brackets weigh? Any info on numbers would be appreciated...like comparison between stock seats and whatever aftermarket seat...

the seats i have are made in the same factory as corbeau, and weigh close to the same. i got them from a company called swerve motorsports. harnesses are 4point, and i used the factory brackets for the seats. if you want a set, send me a pm, and i can get you a some for a really good price.

I have the forza's but are not installed yet. One thing I noticed is that for short people, really short people like girls 5'2" or so there head doesn't make it up to the upper pad. Instead it sits on a metal bracket inside the seat. I'm kinda worried about it. Its horrible and seems dangerous to me. I mean, I don't think I have a defective seat or anything but it just doesn't seem right.
For me 5'9" the seats seemed fine, and comfortable. I would have no complaints if I didn't have my girlfriend sit in it to try them out. But again, I just trial sat in them, for 2 min they seemed comfortable to me.
I may end up trading my new red's for some new black's, if your interested.
And how did you use your factory mounting bracket?? I wish I coulda done that and saved some cash.

I'd recommend the Kirkey Pro Drag Racing seat. Its light and comfortable. I fabricated some brackets out of square tubing and used the stock studs to bolt them down. The bracket weight a few pounds. Not sure what the weight savings was, but definately a lot because I can carry my Kirkey around with 1 hand and no effort, but I had to use 2 and effort for my stock seat.

My Kirkey exonomy drags and brackets are ~65lbs lighter that the leater power seats. This will come off the weight in my sig. Shooting for below 3450 for next year.
How much do those factory thrones of leather, steel, and motor weigh, anyway? Has anyone used the 'Lay-back' Kirkey's? They look like they'd be more comfortable than the Pro-Street's. I wonder if there's a weight diff. between the two 'styles'...
Durn, i knew my leather seats were heavy.... but i didnt realize they were that heavy. I need to go this route. Where are you guys getting the best deals on these seats? The only thing i have to worry about is my wife pitching a fit about them not being comfortable.
If you're worried about keeping the wife comfy, just measure her bumcakes and get the seat width that'll fit her most 'snug'. The whole support factor contributes a lot to actual comfort of the seat. I sat in a smaller and larger Pro-Street. The smaller of the two, fitting a little more snug, felt more comfortable.
