Is anyone useing one of these style shift lights? If so, how do you hook one up? Im guessing it comes with a few wires attatched to it that you splice into a certain wire that goes to the ECM????? Any special concerns about these on LS1s?

Those should work okay as long as they are capable of being set up for 4 cylinder motors. The MSD 8952 will also work for your purposes. Like a tachometer, you must cut the two looped wires on the backside of the shift light to set up as if it was a 4 cylinder.
If you have a 1998 you must attatch the tach signal wire to pin #35 of the upper connector to the PCM.
