Ghetto weight reduction?
Ghetto weight reduction? I have a 95 camaro with a 00 LS1/4L60E in it. The car had some front end damage so I am swapping to the new style frontend.
Since I'm not super picky about appearance I picked up some really cheap aftermarket fenders and a front bumper locally. Fenders were $30 each and the bumper was $35. They came primered.
Picked up the new fenders and I swear the old LT1 fenders weigh about twice as much as the new LS1 ones. The material seems thinner and cheaper than the oem stuff. I know the old fenders have paint on them, but that can't be more than a few ounces? I'm going to weigh everything and see what the difference is.. even if it's only 8-10#'s between everything, thats some good weight off the front of the car!
