Default Somebody Explain RT To Me...

Reaction Time; I was hitting .2's and .1's at a track rental this weekend, and some were saying that was not good, and it should be ~.500

I don't get it. Don't we want to holeshot as close to the green as possible without cutting a red?

the old way used to be measured based off the last yellow...bulbs are .500 apart so that would've been perfect (left right at green)

When NHRA changed to the LED system, they time RT off the Green now...so .000 is now perfect.

Yay, now I'll be proud of my .144, .234. and .181 instead of keeping it a secret.

well I wouldn't be proud of any light starting with a .1, but that's coming from a bracket racer of 12 years. Get the reaction time starting with a .0 and that's better. Get it below .04 and that's bragging material for a footbraker!

Dude, that may never happen in my lifetime!

I was getting flak form fellow LS1ers for NOT cutting .500's instead of the .1's and .2's. So I was confused as to what was considered "good."

This was only my 3rd time ever at the strip.

Those are very respectable times for only your third trip to the track....practice makes perfect! If you keep at it, you eventually get really good at it and cut consistent reaction times.

Yep, agreed! Can't hurt to try and get better with each trip!
