Good to ehar that you ahve a direction for the motor. I'm sure Eastside could build you a motor to suit your needs... but then again, I'm a little biased, much like those who write the rules...
So nine if I give ya like say...$20 bucks how and a sticker can I sponsor the car? I'd like to reserve the back window upper area if thats possible.
seriously though, when you said y2k_hawk's rendering something for you how do you mean? I'm a pretty serious 3D animator so if you want to see anything 3D or hell even photoshopped lemme know. I have lots of free time and nothing to fill it with. Good luck!

I'm rendering an illustration of Nine Ball's car....all hand-drawn.

The car will be built to compete in our Super Stock class. For those that don't follow the rules discussions, that is the stock displacement all-motor class. This year we are including the LS2 (6.0L) and hitting them with a minor weight penalty. So, my plans are to build an all-out LS2 based engine.
Good news is that I have the entire suspension and drivetrain figured out and ordered. The rolling chassis (plus tranny) should be completed pretty quickly, probably in the Feb time frame.
Suspension:
BMR K-member
BMR upper and lower A-arms
BMR Extreme Duty Torque Arm
BMR chromoly lower control arms
QA1 front coil over shocks (for now, probably go AFCO's or double adjustable QA1s later)
QA1 rear shocks
Airbag in RR spring
Wilwood lightweight front brakes, stock rear brakes.
Drivetrain:
TCI ultra-lightweight custom powerglide with Dedenbear case, gun drilled shafts, 1.96 first gear ratio, aluminum valvebody with pro tree transbrake. They claim this tranny only uses 7! hp to turn. (70 lbs lighter than TH400)
TCI custom 8" converter (5800-6000 rpm stall)
Billingsley Racing fabricated 9" rearend with gun drilled 35 spline axles, spool, custom shortened 2" per side, and 4.10 gears. (30 lbs lighter than regular 9")
Billingsley Racing heavy duty drag racing anti-roll bar
Chassis:
Wolfe Racecraft 10-point chromoly rollcage
Wolfe Racecraft custom subframe connectors
The remaining stuff is what I have planned:
Engine:
LS2 block, stock crankshaft, stock displacement
high compression, forged pistons
aftermarket rods
ARP hardware
Possibly AFR heads, but may go with LS6 heads.
FAST 90mm intake and t-body (already purchased)
solid roller cam setup
electric water pump
Kooks 1-7/8 into 2" headers
Appearance:
Sunoco Camaro style cowl hood (if someone builds one!)
SS rear wing
custom paint job Click HERE!
Bogart wheels
Goals:
3000 lbs raceweight (non-series form. I'd add weight for series racing)
9.70s short term, 9.50s long term (all-motor)
Keeping the car magazine feature quality - everywhere!
Eventually stepping up the car into the Super Mod class with a 427ci perhaps. Maybe when the LS7 comes out?
With a little luck, I might be able to have it running by our first event in April. If not, possibly the 2nd event.
I haven't decided on which shop will build the engine. I've had a few sponsors inquire about taking on the project, but I haven't put much time into dealing with the engine just yet. I've been focusing on getting the rolling chassis put together first.
Tony
Jay Johnson already had a similar paint scheme to that. You might want to redesign the tearing so it doesnt look even remotely close. Other than that, looks to be a fun ride, Tony.

Jay's was similar, but slightly different. His started tearing up near the mirror and worked downwards toward the rear wheel. Mine starts near the front wheel and works its way upwards to the roofline.
But yes, I love the look of his car, which is one reason I'm going with something similar. www.JayJohnson.com
Funny, Jay was over at my house last night. He has seen the sketch and liked it.

really splitting hairs there Tony. If you see Jay again, tell him sorry I didn't take better pictures of his car. Also...Jay...if you are out there...are you still at KCM? I saw their new car, its pretty nice.
Tony...what about springs? Why the airbag? Are you gonna be trying out anything we haven't seen before?

Airbag is off the list now, I got a drag anti-roll bar coming instead. Stock springs.
I was gonna compliment PSJ on the new car and especially the paint scheme. I always thought it would be cool to do a rivet paint job like that. I still like it, but no need for you ladies to include me in this conversation.
Good luck with the car PSJ. Keep building those cars with other people's money, very impressive.

This blue Camaro is Tony W's car. I have a 98 red Formula hardtop. Hope to meet you this year and maybe get to a better place rather than dick around on the web. If you have personal beef I'd be glad to talk to you about it.
