Default Will I break anything

I have a stock 2000 trans-am, and i keep hearing everyone talking about blowing there 10bolt rears, but i also notice that every one is launching there car at high rpms. When i race, mostly on the streets, i leave at like 1100 because i cant get my tires to stop spinning, i have BFG traction TA. Should i really have to worry about my rear i also just installed a 125 wet shot. Is there anyone out there that can get traction with there stock suspension and regular street tires? ohh and i have a M6 with stock clutch.

Your weak link is the stock clutch and the rear, it seams to be the clutch that goes first, but that is not always the case. The answer to your question will you break something, ABSOLUTLEY with the wet shot. Most people will break clutch and rear with stock motor and sticky tires. If you keep sticky tires out of the equation things will last longer but in the end YES your shiat is going to break.

getav8's right. i had no issues with my car when it was stock... sent and started adding bolton's... had traction problems on the street and at the track with factory tires.... so I found myself a nice set of bogarts and e.t streets that were for sale. bought them... put them on the car... drove to the track, launched the first pass like I did with the stock tires.. bogged the car so bad I thought it was gonna stall. Pass #2... launched hard enough.. smoked the factory clutch.

Now I have a spec 4I in the car... and a 12 bolt is going in in a couple weeks... I haven't even got 200 miles on that clutch yet, but I already know that the rear's not gonna like what that cluch is capable of delivering to it... so I'm not even gonna try and find out.

You's best start saving to change the rear, clutch and driveshaft too... it won't take with the rear will hold, and what the clutch will deliver once you've upgraded. Unless you like getting stranded....

clutch goes first frist time with spec 3 on regular nitto 555 not dr and poped 16 teeth of ring gear and 4 of pinion grined the rest down AT ONLY 2200rpm's
