Eric, see what you mean now, I think it doesn matter, personally I dont like having to "control" the brakes during my burnout. Pump, set, release, and be done with it. In your setting on the rear brakes you your doing the same thing, not allowing fluid to the rear brakes, but now your having the ability to modulate, let up a little, the front brakes. I dont see a need for it, but if you do, great, sounds like it would work. if you can set the solenoid on and then pump the brakes as blue66 was talking about, then I would hook the rear line lock up with outlet facing the master cylinder, which as he has described would make it essentially a high pressure one way check valve, not a true piston type solenoid.
Sorry but I cant simply hop out and test mine, nor have I ever had the desire to try it, but if in fact it works thats good info to know. "you're my boy blue!"

Are you saying you put them on the rear lines, and when you do the burnout you turn the line lock on, press the brake then spin the tires and do your burn out then turn the line lock off.

if so here are some tips

I am guessing you may want to do this so that you can use the line lock to hold the rear wheels during a lauch.

There are a few problems with doing it that way:
-most classes for non delay races only allow line locks on non-drive wheels only.
-a lot of classes for non delay box races(footbrake) don't allow launching with a line lock and/or a button.
-after you launch you may forget to turn it off and most line locks recommend that you only have them on for a max of 60 sec. doing so my damage the line lock.
-unless you turn the line lock off before the end of the track you will not have rear brakes at the end of the run.
-if you forget to turn the line lock off you will not have rear brakes when you leave the track.

I have attempted to launch with my line lock on the front wheels. The problem I found is that once you turn the stage bulb on and release the brake pedal the car lurches forward a little bit once you bring the RPM'S up. Now this changes the amount of rollout your car has each time. Plus you can't bring your RPM's up as high since there is nothing holding your rear wheels still. The best way to launch with a line lock is to have a 4 wheel line lock but in most classes they are not allowed unless you want to run Super Pro in which case you would be better off with a Transbrake and a delay box.

i bought a car and noticed the line lock noid under the hood...it took me a while to find the switch that was under ash tray, sneaky sneaky...and we found that it was hooked up in the rear, I was curious how that worked. I haven't been able to figure out how it works exactly yet though, lol.
