Coolant Overflow Question?

Coolant Overflow Question? I don`t have a drag car by any means, but I do have a 411 HP Z28 with full weight minus the spare tire and jack as well as a light weight battery and ASP pully. I see some of the drag guys are using a smaller volume overflow for their radiator. Currently I run my stock overflow empty and my radiator about 1.5 to 2 inches below full. I have always ran my radiators just below full ever since I owned a car since I was 16. Why? Becaus for some odd reason I always thought it let the coolant circulate more freeley 
Thats just me. Anyway how much weight will I save if I went to a smaller overflow tank? Brand name and weight savings for your tanks would be apreicated as well as pics.

I'm using a small Moroso catch that's mounted to the side of the frame between the radiator and intercooler. I have a downpipe going through where my factory overflow was located.
