If you motor is not getting into detonation you probably don't the extra octane. Then you should be fine. Now if you are using nitrous or a blower then you may need it. I run 114 leaded fuel in my 1980 but I have a good bit of compression and nitrous. Also if you do run it you may want to get some unleaded race gas.

On a stock short block with stock compression, I would not use any higher than 94 octane. Mix what ever fuel you want to achieve this goal. Heck, I mix a 50/50 blend of 100 with 87 for a 94 octane level on both my cars. Sometime higher on the Z28 race car.

My experience with the programmers is they add about 3 degrees of timing. Programming is obviously better but in the absence give that HPP a try.

Have you had the car tuned with you mods? Your MPH sounds really low. My friends '98 with my old TR224 and Mac's runs mid-low 12's at over 112 mph. And thats in a 6 spd.

I wouldn't F with the HPP3 since you don't know what it's going to do. You may be too lean or have too much timing causing KR.

U really dont need race gas if ur motor isnt prone to detonation /pre-ignition. When it starts to ping u need some race gas.

Do not use the HPP and do not use race gas. Get that 60' down .1 and you have your 12. You should easily be able to drop off .1 on it if your running any kind of decent tire.

using higher octane than needed will SLOW your car down b/c of a slower burn rate, so dismiss the race gas idea.
