Well, I have to agree and disagree with some on here. I just saw an 03 Cobra that was 3810 with the driver. That is heavier than some fbodies, lighter than some. My car may be about 3600 with my 210lbs *** in the seat.

My opinion is that i wouldnt want to remove to much weight that is over the rear axle. that rear hatch is expensive as hell, I priced Lexan windows though and they arent to bad. One time when i first got my car, i removed every piece of interior (seats, panels, rear panels, spare, everything except the dash and steering wheel ) lol. i took it out and drove it, it could not keep the 275,s hooked up in 1st, 2nd, and the bottom of 3rd. It was a hell of alot faster on the freeway though. It was especially fun in the turns because it slid everywhere. Other than that, removing all that weight would of been useless without slicks. What i would recomend is removing more weight from the front than the back. K member, upper and lower A arms, hood ( not much difference), front sway bar, and front runners. just my 2 cents

wow, your cars are heavy... mine dead stock weighs 3600 with me in it with full interior, and nothing taken out, with the LT1. i know that is still alot, but that is about 3400lbs with me out of it, so i am pretty happy.
and by the way WTF is this thing --->

The thing to remember is that light weight and good front/rear balance can only help. A light car will accelerate faster, brake in a shorter distance, and carve corners with more authority than a heavier car will.

Currently sitting at 3250. I wonder if I can hit 3000 lbs this summer.

I agree with Red95ssclone , you dont need to ditch out everything comes to ur face without considering weight transfer and traction issues.

for who is considering getting rid of some weight , consider how to transfer the proper weight to the back first.

Okay thats a good start....that would drop a nice amount of weight but there is so much mour out there....btw a Lexan window wouldnt be good on the street because it will leak, it distorts vision, is uber expensive and would look f*n ridiculous riveted on a 12 sec car imho...save that for the pro stock guys
