A much better shift point optimizer
A much better shift point optimizer here's a spreadsheet in which you put in your data (tire,gearing, shiftpoints, hp maps) and using a solver (or just by playing with numbers by hand) you can figure out when to shift (or how short of a gear you should get) to be on the powerband the most.
the numbers that are in the spreadsheet are from a very close to stock M6 SS, dynoed in 3rd and 4th gear (i used 3rd's data for 1st and 2nd too).
you can play with the numbers and find out that even with the power dropping off past mid 5krpm, you can still get more work out of it, by shifting it at 6400rpm, and putting in 3.73 gears. you can also find out that with that setup, going from 3.73 to 4.11 has almost no benefit.
you can do a lot more with it, i'm gonna write up few generic applications for it soon, and i'll keep you posted.
