Default Looking for help.

Im not really sure where to start on this, my car has a lid, LT's, a cutout, LCA's and a pro 5.0, textralia clutch, and all new hydraulics. last night I was at hte track and all I could muster out of the car was a 13.5@107.7, I was running consistent 13.5's and 6's on 2.2 60's. Now im not expecting much because of the tires im running, SHITTY 245 street tires that are almost bald, but im wondering if my car is down on power for only trapping 108. Granted I had to pedal it through the top of first, ALL of 2nd, and it was spinning into 3rd. Do you think the main problem is the tires, or do you think the car is down on power? I am more concerned about the trap than the ET, I know my shifts are fine. Do you think the poor trap is due to the tires or the car being down on power? It is untuned. Thanks.

Here is the slip

RT .286
60' 2.23
330 5.970
1/8 8.923 WTF?
MPH 84.4
1/4 13.504
MPH 107.71

If your 60's were where they are supposed to be(mid- to high- 1.8s), then you would be trapping close to 110. You should be airing up the front tires to 50psi, and not taking the rears below 27-28psi. Also, I don't know how good at shifting you are but a "good" shift takes about half a tenth. Give us some more info about your combo in addition to the engine mods you've done (i.e. track conditions, tire pressures, suspension mods, etc.). Also, remember that the weather is changing and your times will suffer(mine have, humidity is a killer).

The track wasnt prepped very well, my shifts are good. I was spinning for about 1 second in 3rd, had to pedal it through all of 2nd. I would really like some more input on whether you think the car is down on power, or if the low MPH was just from lack of traction. The air was descent.

I'm not a drag expert but i will rule out one of those things for ya right now lol.

In drag racing......the more your car spins, the HIGHER MPH you will trap.

example (1000 foot....not 1/4 mile.....arkansas sucks)

on my 2.0 short time i trapped 100.7
on my 2.1 short time i trapped 101.8
on my 2.3 short time i trapped 102.6

I understand that with the 60', but were you spinning through all of 2nd gear, and into 3rd?

That doenst really make sense, a bolton/geared/stalled A4 should trap A LOT higher than 102.6.

Not on a 1,000 foot track. Check his posts again.

Lowering the 60' will not raise the MPH at all. In fact, if anything the mph would go down.

With nothing but exhaust and a lid 108 mph is fine. The 2.2 60' should be brought down to 2.0 or a little better when on street radials.

Question:
Do you think the main problem is the tires?

You answered your own question. (sorry couldn't resist)

You seriously need some DR's, running street tires at the track (even at CFR) is an exercise in futility. I wouldn't worry about the trap speed until you get decent tires.
