Default Removing washer fluid pump

I long since thew my washer fluid reservoir away, never used the thing to begin with since it sprayed over the entire car. In the quest to lose weight while keeping it comfortable (daily driver) I'd like to remove everything else I can that is part of the washer fluid system.

Where is the pump? I still get lost in these dang engine bays trying to follow wires around. Has anybody else removed it, where is it, what do you have to do?

Thanks.

Yeah, the pump is on the tank itself.

Oh well, thanks for the info.

No, I havn't. It just doesn't sit right with me to remove the bumper supports, as much as I'd LOVE to be able to remove that much weight. I have more or less stalled in my search of things to remove.

So far I've lost the spare tire/jack, AIR, EGR, front sway bar, rear seat with belts, washer fluid reservoir, insulation on underside of hood and all insulation from under the carpet (except under driver's seat). Car is my daily driver and only vehicle and must be driven in anything from -5* to 105* in heavy stop and go traffic and be relatively comfortable and totally safe for me and one other occupant.

i get you ... let me put this to rest, those are not crash protection... your front bumper support is made out of styrofoam it might help (alittle) in a 5mph bump... but will to nothing in a wreck... the back bumper support is plastic.... it might be a little stronger... but not much....

long and short is, it aint saving your life...in a wreck

as for how to take it off...
all you have to do is undo all the pop rivits and 4-5 screws holding on the bumper cover, then unbolt the 4 bolts holding the support, then reattach the cover....

while your at it you can clean parts of your car you never get to see otherwize....(dirt weights too much)

Thanks jaberwaki, I will consider that. I'm heading to the track tonight to get some times (barring rain) and then again on friday for street car chaos. I'll look into the bumper supports for a last minute "mod" on friday since I have a short day of work. I removed all the heat shields I saw during my header swap, but didn't look as far back as the original muffler, if that is the area you are referring to.

yup there is a big one back there too....

the front bumper support is easy enough to be a "right before the track" mod.... kinda like the passanger seat... take out the suport the night before... put it back when you get home from the track....

the seat you take out at the track(13 mm wrench and phillips head SD)

Good advice. I'm trying to run my car down the track exactly as I drive it day to day, which means what comes off stays off. I might swap tires, but that's it, and I can and sometimes do drive around with ET streets anyway.
