Tread width vs. Rollout???
I have been wanting to get away from the 28x10.5x15 ET Drags that I have been running and try to hook on a drag radial for the upcomming TR Shootout in Nov.
My question is what will hook better a 275/60/15 MT Dr or a 325/50/15 MT Dr? Does the tread width even matter? Or is it the rollout that makes the tire hook better?
My car doesn't have gobs of power (cam only), but it's pretty hard to hook because of the 4800 stall in the 4l60e and the 4.30 gears Is it even possible to get a DR to hook with that combo?
Thanks.

I'm no expert.. but the total contact patch should dictate alot as to how much traction a tire has.. all the sidewall flex and distortion out of the equation. If you increase the width or the height, you are increasing the total contact patch.. therefore should increase traction...if you will need it or not I don't know, madman's probably the expert on that, if he says the 275.. then I'd go with that.
