Default Is a restall worth it? 5300 to 4???

Ok i've been thinking and i wanna try to get my converter restalled lower. Right now its at about 5300. I bought this converter while i was putting my car together for "cam only" but i ran over budget and decided to throw a stock cam in it.
So far i've run a best of 7.05 @ 96 with a 1.51 60 ft. (hopefully going to 1/4 this friday if those bastards don't cancel it again ) Anyways the car pulls the wheels about 6"-9" but then kinda noses over when coming out of the hole. I'm assuming this is cause its a stock cam and a 5300 stall. I mean a stock cam peaks (torque) at 4400, see the problem.
A restall is about $150 but my car will be down for at least 1.5-2 weeks. I would just order a second converter so my car wouldn't be down at all but i'm payin for my wedding and that kind of kills the race car budget.
I was just going to keep this stall and wait till i threw a cam in it but
1. i wanna see how fast i can go on the stock cam
2. i'll probably not get a cam till late next year
3. since i'm still driving 90 miles a day (moving closer to work after i get hitched) a cam would really hurt the MPG
SO.. you think a restall to 4400 would be worth it? would it JUST help improve my 60' and nothing else? any help is much apretiated. thanx guys.

For that kind of Cash outlook, See about a 02-up Z06 cam. You are talking about the same $$$ there. Could also find a used cam that is in Good condition foro cheaper also. Seems to be a waste to restall it to then go back to what you want later. Go for what you wanted in the 1st palce. A Cam.

yeah but then i'de have to buy springs. Not really interested in a LS6 cam i'm of the mentality of "Go big or go home" when it comes to cams. and the mpg would go to **** with a big cam. i'll get a cam next year when i move closer to my job and don't have to worry about gas milage. but thanx for the suggestion.

Ok. Then I'd call turbo Action and talk to them about your convertor. Should pick up a little in the 1/4 and 1/8

with your 4.10's i dont see it being a problem to stall a little lower. Hopefully it works out for you but i'd just leave it.

Well, like it has already been said, I would just leave the converter alone for now, and install the cam when I got around to it. Otherwise, you have to pay for another re-stall when you do finally upgrade the cam. The converter is already how you want it. right? I mean as far as end result goes. My vote- leave it as is until you change the cam.
