Default Im The Worst Driver!!! Need Help

ok...engine mods are in sig...it made 393rwhp and 385rwtq off the juice. i just completely re-did my rear suspension ( umi lca's...LG torque arm...bilsteins..global west PHR...spohn sway bars ) im on nittos and at the track i lower them down to 18psi. i ahvent sprayed at the track yet cause im tryin to get consistant with my launches which i havent been able to do...

heres my problem...2.0+ 60" times....i cant launch the car at the track to save my life...ive tried all kinds of differant things...differant rpms, riding the clutch out, droppin the clutch..so on and so forth...no luck...it'll either spin or bog...i cant find the happy medium. any tips???

i want to get my n/a times down before i start sprayin her at the track...my n/a e.t's are a little odd to begin with so i wanna try to improove on them a bit. recent best was 12.53@114.xx w/2.0 60" and i know its got more in it...keep in mind im on a stock rear (3.42) and its a stick car.
any help some of you guru drag racers can help me with would be appreciated..thanx

Ditto. I had a set of Nittos and they sucked for me. Best 60 ft was a 1.91x. I have BFG DRs now and only have made a few passes on them, but I'm cutting consitant 1.8s w/ them.
The problem w/ nittos is they just aren't a soft enough compound tire.

They don't have enough sidewall flex to absorb a high RPM clutch dump without spinning either.

A few people have told me the MR Drs are almost as sticky if not just as sticky as the ETs. But that's just what I heard.

I have them and they hook great for me. Some people have a problem hooking with them in an M6.

It's your tires. I got MT's too and they hook good, but Moroso sucks, so my 60' aren't great (1.85's).

You're concerned about your rear, but if you want better 60's and ET's, the rear is going to get you there.

Get a 9" or 12 bolt!

If you are hooking well on all three of the tires mentioned, you will stand the greatest chance of breaking your rear on the drag radial. The soft sidewalls of the ET Streets/Drags will absorb some of the initial shock of the clutch dump and ease the hit on your rear end. That's no guarantee that your rear will survive though...

You have got to get some DR's to get the 60' any lowwer. It will break the 10 bolt after awhile. I got about 60 passes on et streets before the rear blew. 9" now baby.
I thought it would run a little slower with the 9" but I actually went faster.
I cut a 1.62 60' the other night and went 11.45 @ 122.
