Check out my reply in this thread: https://ls1tech.com/forums/drag-racing-tech/377508-what-psi-should-stock-f1-s-set-track.html

I avoid burnouts on street tires (line-lock or brake stand kind). What I do is drive around the water, and after getting the car pointed straight and square with the starting line, I make sure I'm not in any water tracks, and then mash the gas hard to burn the tires slightly (this removes any water traces, rocks, etc and helps clean the tires) before I stage and make the run.

I ran my 18's at 2 psi increments from 35 to 25 one time, just to see.

They got better as I went down, until about 29, then they started getting slower again. I usually run them at 31 now.

A 17 with a taller sidewall might be different though.

I have stock SC F1 tires...

My best short time with 22 - 26 PSI is 2.003

My best short time with 40 PSI is 1.932

Go figure.
