newbie at track
newbie at track hey guys im going to be heading to the track pretty soon which is about 80 miles away from where i go to school so i was just wondering whats involved in the pre race tech what do they check for? i would hate to get all the way down there and not be able to run my car. thanks

Well, that all depends on what is done to your car. If it is fairly stock, then there isn't really much needed other than a helmet.
If you have slicks, then some tracks want a drive shaft loop. If the slicks are mounted on a rim which doesn't allow the stud to come all the way through, then you may need to find a rim that will work, or put longer studs in.
You could always just run the car in stock form, like the way you would arrive at the track and ask lots of questions and learn from those around you. Ask lots of questions. It's the only way to learn. Most guys are pretty good at revealing info.

haha here in our local track in laredo you can run with missing lugs nuts and drinking a beer, when u stop to think about its pretty freaking dangerous...but oh well...now that i've broken into the 12's i dont need to run my car no more till i do more mods...just make sure to watch other people race while your in the staging lanes and pay attetion the the tree as the lights come down so that when its ur turn u dont panic and red light or sleep at the line!!..newbie
