1st Time, Launch tips?
1st Time, Launch tips? I'm going to the track for the frist time this Sunday for a F-body shootout. Do you guys have any tips on launching? I have an A4 with a 3000 stall and I'm thinking I'm just gonna spin my tires, I'm gonna be on street tires. My other mods are 214/222 .559 .556 115LSA cam, LTs, ory, cutout, flowmaster catback and lid. Any ideas what I'll run? I'm hoping for 12s. I beat my friend who ran a 13.3 on the street, but as you know anything can happen. Also I dynoed 333/430 with my TC unlocked

Well seeing as you are running on street tires, your going to have a hard time. Try keeping your foot on the brake and bring the rpm up to 1500 approx. Leave the lights on the last yellow and don't hammer the gas real hard, just press it too the floor at a decent rate. You have enough stuff to easily run mid 12's, with slicks you would probably be in the 11's if it would hook.

If they allow a short time of "test & tune" before the event (or qualifying) begins, take advantage of it. Try varying the RPM at the starting line to see what the track will hold. Find what works best for you and your car, and then apply it during the shootout. Drag racing is a sport where you can never practice too much.
