Question What's the most comfortable racing seats?

Corbeau, Recaro, other? Does anyone know off the top of their heads which one Ruf uses for Porsches?

I'm tall and big: 6'2" and 250 lb. So I'd like a seat that sits a tad lower than stock

I'm gonna be installing 5 points so I also need some recommendations on companies

Any input is appreciated . . . maybe you'll think of something I didn't

Thanks!

ive sat in recaros i love them, but im 6'1'' and 165lbs, you might have to sacrifice comfort on this one lol. do u intend to use the car for cruises, autox, etc or just drag? if just drag then comfort isnt an issue. since ull only be in the car 13 or less seconds plus stagging time, if i were u id find somewhere where u can actually sit in them that way u can make a perfect choice

I have a set of corbeau CR1s... they fit me perfectly... but i'm a LOT smaller than you... some of my taller/bigger friends sat in them and liked them a lot though... you might have problems with the sides fitting too tight but I can't offer an opinion on this because I had to have my seats repaired and restuffed before I put them in...

2nd vote on the CR1s...they sit low, slide back far, and hold me in firmly without being too small...

I have TRSs and they are pretty comfortable. Corbeau is one of the manufacturers who have the wide option!

The CR1's look nice, guess I'll have to wait to get them used for that price though.

Is it gonna matter much that I'm a bodybuilder? I carry my weight in different places than someone of equal size but carrying mostly bodyfat

You guys mentioned "snugness" in some of the posts, where is the snugness mostly; in the upper body area or hips?

My hips are pretty narrow . . . for my size

I'm not really sure where I could try these seats on for size . . . I don't imagine I'd be able to find all the listed seats . . .

Thank you very much for all the replies so far and please keep 'em coming

If it helps, I got both my seats from a member on this board a while back.. Ended up costing $375 for both after I repaired the rip.. and there were a set on ebay at the time for cheap as well.. so they're out there!

although that leather is tempting!

Thanks for the suggestions. I hadn't thought about looking for used

Guess this might be a bad question but . . . are any of the aftermarket seats leather?

Ok, I think I'm decided on Recaro Sport Topline's . . . these things are beautiful! And they come in power adjustments

I'm undecided as to whether I'd go with Vinyl on Suede or Leather on Suede

PLEASE tell me the $1599 list price is per pair

Besides the belts, what else is needed for install? I don't have a cage or roll-bar though . . .

Thanks again for all the info/input!

Has anyone ever tried the seats seats they sell in summit or jegs. They are $199 each. I know seats are like a "you get what you pay for" sorta thing but their more in my price range.

The Summit simulated leather sport-racing-whatever seats ($199) are incredibly comfortable compared to stock Camaro seats. I love mine and if something terrible happens to one I can fork out only $199 to replace it. Plus they are a really simple design and I like that. Everything just folds out if you want to have custom work done on the and it velcros right back in.

I wonder how many people just cancelled orders for Summit seats when I mentioned "velcros right back in" in the above paragraph?

I have the $150 each two tone simulated perforated leather Pep Boys seats. Aside from the whole power and lumbar thing I think they are much better than the stock seats. Before I bought them I took one of my keys and tried to saw through the vynil on the display model and was WAY impressed by the abrasion resistance, allot better than OEM Leather. I also cut a slit in the seat bottom for my crotch strap and even with the belt rubbing around in it it hasnt gotten any bigger or frayed since the day I slit it. I would reccomend these in a second, check out my cardomain pics I think they are pretty good looking. One word of advice though is buy the car specific brackets, it only took me 25 min to get both seats in the car.
