Default Those with shift lights. i need help. i searched

I hooked up the light just like it says on install university and for some reason i am not getting a tac signal. I have a 98 model so i hooked the tac wire to the white wire in pin# 35 on the blue PCM connection. I checked everything with a test light and i am getting power to the activation module. When i check the tac wire i get nothing. Any suggestions on where else to hook it to? Or has anyone had this problem?

Thanks ahead of time.

I did a search for you in electronics, and I think you are supposed to splice into the white wire on the RED connecton.

yeah i have the activation module on 4 and i spliced the white wire. On 98 models it is the white wire in pin 35, on the blue pcm connection. That is what i read on install university. On 99 and up it is the red pcm connection, pin 10.

I cranked the car up and put the test light on the white wire and i didn't get any signal. Is there a way to tap into the wire bundle from the stock tach? The stock tach is slower than the PCM, so i am not sure how accurate it will be.

ignition power. I hooked it to the pink wire in pin 19 on the blue pcm connection. It has power. i checked it at the pcm and at the activation module.

So did you hook it up to the white wire pin 35 or the pink wire 19??? Your cars a 98 right? If you looking at it standing in front of your car it should be on the top connection pack towards the right for the one you need.

I hooked the tac wire(for RPM indicarion) to #35 white wire, top right of pcm. I hooked the power wire to the ignition pin 19, pink wire, so that the shift light would only be on when the ignition is on. I am getting power to the activation module but there is no RPM or tac siganl. With the test light i get a good indication on the pink wire for power. On the white wire i am getting nothing. Why am i not getting any signal from the PCM?

the stock tach runs off that wire. So if your tach works than that wire is good. The needle is just slow. It will send the light on with accuracy when you get it working.

Thanks for the help. I got it to working this afternoon. I took the red wire connectors off and soldered all of the wires together and it started working. So I suggest to anyone else instead of using those wire connetors, solder them!

Now i just have to wait until next weekend to take it to the track and make some passes.
