Default how do i launch with a 6 speed at the track please help

please tell me what i have to do to launch without spinning rear tires my car is pretty much stock it has 3" exhaust and spec stage 2 clutch with lightweight billet steel flywheel. would i get better traction at the track with the 275 17s street tires or the 245 16 nitto drag radials? how do i correctly heat the tires up and launch the car thanks for any help

rev to 6k then drop the clutch.

only if you have a great hooking suspension and tire.

but you might have to rev at a selelct point 2-4k then feather the clutch out.
my guess would be the nittos would hook better because of softer compound and smaller rim size that allows for more sidewall which will give you traction.

Slip the clutch from about 1700RPM and ease into the throttle as you slip the clutch. You'll get better traction from the 245 16 Nittos. More sidewall for more give and a sticker compound than normal street tires. I roll through the water box then dump the clutch to spin the junk off the tires. I'm bone stock and my 13.008 was on street tires. I'm putting on MT DR's this weekend to try for the first time and hope to improve my times. You can't just dump the clutch on an M6 and expect to hook with street tires or drag radials.

when i was stock(ish)i would hold the rpm's to 1,700-2,000 bring the clutch up to where it just wants to grab then dump and drop. i would get almost no wheel spin. now 6,500-7,000 rpm drops,on a 150 shot 1.34 60 foot best w/both front tires airborn

When I still had the 10 bolt in my car I tried dumping it at 3k and it would just bog. Your best bet is going to be slipping the clutch until you get moving good enough. That will just be a trial and error process to get it right.

I know, I was tring to spare the 10 bolt. What I was trying to say is the 10 bolt won't last long launching good dumping it. Slipping the clutch is your best bet.
