Default Removing the bumper supports??

Is there a write up on this, for the front and rear bumpers you have to remove the bumpers right?

Try the drag racing section. I've always wanted to do this but didn't trust the sturdiness of it.

The bumper supports don't weigh much. If you are going to do it just remove the entire bumper with the supports attached. They are not needed. You can't tell if they are gone. (Front and back.) If you get in an accident you will do more damage to the car. That's the only real "con" to this venture.

The bumpers may help prevent damage in a wreck in.......a parking lot. Mine have been out for 4 years.

Mine are out and you cant tell. The back is a little more flimsy then the front but its nothing bad at all.

If it's a street car I'd leave them in. I've done all kinds of weight reduction on my car including removing HVAC, PS, ABS, Wiper assembly etc. plus $$ mods but I do drive it on the street and I kept the bumpers in, just in case ya know.

I took a peice of Nylon string and tied it to the back bumper and then to the gas tank to keep it from being so flemsy while driving it around town.
