Which gears to go with
Which gears to go with Ok I'm going to get a 12 bolt and can't decide what gears to go with 3.42, 3.73, or 4.10's. My car has an M6 with bolt-ons and a 150hp shot of nitrous. I am running MT ET Street radials on stock rims and do NOT want to get taller tires. I shift at around 6k. I plan on doing a cam in the near future. What gear ratio should I go with? Also should I go with strange or motive gears. Thanks in advanced.

i run a 4.11 w.150 shot on a h&c car m6.but,you shift much sooner then i do so the 3.73 will fit you real nice. i had a 3.73 once and it is a nice gear.stay away from the 3.42 it dont give you enough push out of the hole on motor.i went w/u.s gears from thunderracing. goodluck to ya.
if you want to spray a bolt on car with stock height tires - 3.73 is the deepest you could go. i crossed the traps a little before 6 grand with a 4.10 and stock wheels. so you wouldn't be able to spray on top of that.

I agree, but think its best to run 4.10s with a bigger tire when you spray. I have 3.73s and they feel like stock.

Verdad Gallardo i've seen stock drive shafts hold up on way more then you have. mine was good,but the stock tq-arm is what went for me. when it went it took the drive shaft with it. i now have the alum-drive shaft from summit at it has held great. with a 12 bolt launch where ever you need to hook. start at 4,000rpm's and move up ti'll you find the sweet spot. good luck to ya.
