why does it bogg
why does my car still bogg off the line even when i launch it at 6000. the car weighs about 4k.i have all suspension parts(qual shocks with coil overs,k-member,a-arms,body mount ta,9inc rear w/ 411,lca,panhard bar, back sway bar,6-point cage(wolfe),biogarts with 325s out back and skinnies up front. the tire is 28 in tall tire.,tnt f2(150 shot).402 iron block pushing 525rwhp. is it because the car is too heavy and it is hooking too good. will putting a 26in tall tire help or do you think taking off some weight will help.

Weight is tough on parts.
The clutch could be grabbing nicely but then slipping.
How much air you run in the tires, have you played with those pressures?
To get over our bogging we put in more gear and launched higher...

I myself would say you have too much bite...I would try tightening up the front shocks, after that I would play with tire preasure. But only do one change at a time or you will not know what picked the car up. I don't think that your clutch is slipping after you leave. I have seen some cars that are too "lean" and have the same symtoms as you, especially stick cars that are holding it at the line at 6000.

You need more gear w/ the 28" tall tire. Try 4.56's or go to a 26" slick for the motor. I have 4.56's and 28's---my car will bog if it dead hooks & it is much lighter than yours.
I would say lose some weight and go with a 26" for a quick fix.

Launching without a 2-step at 6k is still a part throttle launch. The car picks up the wheels because of the inertia of the clutch, but then bogs because it is at part throttle.
A 2-step allows you to launch at whatever rpm you want but with the gas pedal fully pressed down. That way you are wide open as soon as you let go of the clutch.
The first time I used mine, I used to launch a 3k (stock rear) and cut 1.9 60 ft on DR's. On the 2-step at the same rpm, It picked up the front tires, broke the differential and still cut a 1.9 60 ft.
Do a search there are alot of people using them.
I am not saying the weight and the tires aren't an issue, but hooking and then bogging is usally an issue of not enough power or part throttle launches. and you should definately have enough power.
