need help on launching, going to track curious on techniques to launch a RWD car are, my tire PSI is at 40 PSI, and im in an auto.
should i lower PSI to 35ish?
and what RPMs do you guys launch at to grab.

now, even though im an M6, heres what i do... i push the brake pedal and let off the clutch enough so its just barely engaged, like so it will jump if you let off ther brake, then i tach it up to 1200, cuz i have street tires... and then i ease into the gas, and let go of the clutch... then powershift away. Im still in the R&D part of launching, too. im almost jealous of my friends M3, because that things launches like AWD, even though hes just got almost bald street tires. Since he has almost no torque, he can do that.. but our cars have about double the torque he has stock, so that can present problems. Hopefully someone else will chime in, because id like to know some methods, too... especially cuz i have a race coming up and the launch will decide the race.
with street tires, i'd say just foot brake it to aruond 1,500 or so. those lt1's make lots of low end torque. lower your tire pressure to around 20-25. clean off the tires, but don't do a big smokey burnout.
get some drag radials.... nittos work great for stock'ish cars. they last pretty long too.
