Looking at a wolfe 6pt Chrome Moly weld in cage. Site does not say what the weight is. Also who has the best price?

typical rollbar weights are 60-80 lbs for mild steel, and about 50-60 for chrome-moly.

I saw on one web site 83 lbs for the bolt in 6pt chrome moly cage. I thought that was a lot. I did not think it weighed that much.

In order for it to be legal, the plates that have to welded to teh floor along weigh quite a bit... they are a 6 inch y 6 inch plate that is 1/8 thick.. taht alonw is gonna be a good amount of weight.

I'd call a good fab shop, see what they can do for you, they might be able to do one that will be slightly lighter, depending on where you want the rear bars to mount, that kind of stuff. I can get you a # of someone if you want... same place I am planning on using myself, located here in CT.

Plan on needing one next year?

83lbs for a 6pt moly is WAY high. A 6pt mild steel rollbar weighs 68lbs. (Wolfe)

The 6pt chrome moly bolt in in my car weighs 58lbs with the hardware/backup plates. Weld in will be a little lighter because it doesnt need the backup plates or the hardware..

Can you pull weld in SFC's with a 6pt roll bar, or would you want to keep them in?

I know I"ll need one myself Dave.. but teh problem is that by the time I get done putting the TH400 in, shocks, new tires, brakes and all the other little crap I need to do, I'll be out of car cash for the season... gues sit will have to wait until next year.

Maybe, if I'm lucky, I'll get to a track rental, and at least get a few n/a passes in.... if I find a way to get the bottle in teh car this year...I'm sure one pass of that and it will be "you're outta here!!"

So does a wolfe mild steel cage only weigh 20-25 more than the chrome moly? Odering one soon and need to figure out if i want to spend the extra coin for the lighter one.
