Question Competition Engineering Adjustable Rear Shocks?

From what I can gather, these are the ultimate shock for us track junkies on a budget. You can snag a brand new pair for $85 and they're 3-way adjustable.

My stock shocks have 60k on them and could use replacing.

Is there any reason NOT to jump all over these shocks?

I have them in my car, set at 50/50, and have cut low 1.5 60fts, with a few high 1.4s.

I have them on my car. I like them for the price, got mine on ebay for $35/pair. I cut a 1.53 on mine last weekend so I guess they are working ok. I kinda wish they would go a little stiffer than 50/50 though.

I have talked to 2 folks with these and they do not get the great 60's as they had expected. Maybe the settings are incorrect on their cars.

Consistant 1.35 60's here and its all because of the CE shocks LOL.

Seriously they are good enough for most cars, double adjustables are great (and 5x more expensive) if you know what you are doing with them.

Thinking of getting some of these? This was an old thread, so I wonder if more people are using these and how do they like them?

I hate them... I've gone 1.52 on them but it's hard to tell what setting they are set at since they slick when rotated even past the little triangles and symbols on the side that represent what they are set at....

They have to be unbolted as well to reset them so it won't be easy at the track to adjust them....

that's why they are cheap. They probably work fine if you get them to 50/50 and leave em but if you change tracks/conditions good luck....

I've been running mine for a few months, and they're certainly not the best but I don't think there is a better option for the money. I set mine to 50/50 and have left them alone.

FWIW, I will be upgrading to QA1-Rs in a few months.

I had them for about 3k and 40 track passes. They suck for a daily driver. They squek and wear out fast. When i first had them i broke one in half just driving around town. It broke at the bottom weld point. If your going to set them at 50/50 anyway just buy some pep boy monroes, they last longer.
