its not hard pop the top cover after you disconnect the LED we thought we were gonna break mine but it was fine and then remove all the bolts and then some more and finagle it out

Yep, it's actually really simple once you get stared. Just start pulling bolts and take your time. You should have to finagle but you shouldn't have to pull and rip on stuff.

What is the LED? Is there an LED light up there that needs to be disconnected or something? Sorry if that's a dumb question, but I can't think of anything else that LED stands for, and it didn't come with a security system, so there's no light on the dash.

I had just heard there was some hidden bolts, so was just kind of curious as to the area of where all the bolts are, and how many there are so I know if I get them all out or not. I already took the bolt out htat's behind the dash when I had the motor out, just wonderin if there's any other hidden one's.

I had no trouble finding all of the bolts. When it starts to get loose you can tell where the resistance is coming from and then it is easy to find them. The hard part for me was not loosing any bolts . If you are taking it out alone remove the steering wheel, if you have someone helping you,you can leave the wheel on and finagle it out. Good luck! It took me about 3 1/2 hours.

Yeah, I had heard of hidden bolts too but I was very suprised when I pulled all I saw and that was it. If your pulling the heater box there are hidden bolts. From what I hear, to get all of them you have to do it while the motor is out so most guys just cut it. There is the photo sensor that will need to be unpluged from the defroster grill, think the LED was only for factory security cars. Again, just take your time and you will see how everything comes apart. After I was done I couldn't figure out why everyone bitches about pulling the dash.

BTW: Pull the wheel off and drop the collum down. I was working alone and that did help a ton. Also, when you pull up the upper dash pad where some gloves. The edges are not finished, it's like grabbing a big razor blade, cut me pretty deep.

Yeah, i've made that mistake before on the unfinished edges of things in there, that **** hurts!!!! My wheel is easy to come off, so i'll just pull it off, just gotta take the 5 allen bolts out of the grant wheel and viola!!! I will be pulling the heater box, I heard some are in the engine compartment side, so if I can't get 'em, i'll pull off the one's inside and then just yank and hopefully it comes out like others have said it does and then just use the inside bolts to hold down the billingsley delete plate I have.

Thanks for all the help guys, appreciate it!

I used a mini sledge hammer to get the heater out, once you finally get to the firewall you can start breaking pieces away and then fit a box end wrench on the motor side of the firewall and get the bolts out that way. Or you can just beat them out like I did with a few of them. A thikck pair of gloves will definately help, because as pieces of the box break away it gets very jagged and sharp. Don't get too stressed out, the finished product is well worth it.

Yeah I hear ya on that, definately gonna be worth it to get the weight out, and also to have my car all nice and legal to be able to race anywhere and anytime I want, plus the piece of mind of knowing I am a lot safer god forbid something should ever happen!

there is one bolt in the tranny tunnel near the top :that you will have a hard time getting out with motor in . Other then that is just time consuming lots of nuts to take out also theres like 2 or 3 that are on the backside of the vents attaching to the dash.

Yeah I had heard about that bolt, so I got it while the motor was out, wish I would've known some of the bolts on the heater box were on the engine side cuz I would've gotten them while the motor was out too!

By the way, what do I do about the hoses goin into the meziere pump, since there is no more box, should I just buy a piece of hose and connect it to both ends?

I have not removed my heater so I would say you might have to loop the two ends or plug them off. Some one else on here might be able to answer that better.
