My First Time to the Track
My First Time to the Track I bought an '02 Formula A4 with 29K miles and 1 prior owner.
I'm no gearhead, and the only mod that I can see is Flowmaster exhaust.
What advice does anyone have for a first-timer going to the track to see what my 1/4 mile time will be?
Do I go off by myself or against somebody else?
Anyone know of a good track in the Kansas City area and what it may cost?

well that flowmaster is no good, i have one but i didnt buy it, the car came with it, eventually ill be switching that out to something better flowing....if u have ever raced and know how to launch an A4 ull prolly run like 13.1-13.5 range

good article, definitely read this one.
Anything from mid 13's to low 13's is normal for your car, just remember , DONT FLOOR IT OFF THE LINE 
It also doesnt matter if you go by yourself or with somebody, just try not to go crazy with your reaction time at first if the other person launches quickly, practice taking off smoothly, then work on reaction.

Try to make sure you dont pull up too far on the staging lights. You want the 2nd set of staging lights to be flickering on and off. This in turn gives you a slight rolling start before you pass the line at which your e.t. will start. Not a lot of people pay attention to this. But it can be HUGE! This will give you your best e.t. possible so long as you dont screw up the 60'!
Oh yeah and if your concerned about your reaction, all you have to do is,As soon as you see the 3rd yellow light come on,GO, Dont wait until you see the green or youll get left at the light! Good Luck
