Default need some opinions

i've been looking into possible combo's for a 01 z28. this is what i've come up with so far. keep in mind i'm new to the ls1

yank 4000 conv.
magic stick
3:73's
nx kit jetted at 100-150
slp long tubes with cutout
slp air lid
i will also have subrames and lca's. car will be at full weight. has anyone else run this combo? if so what numbers did you put down and times? i'm looking to go 11.5's on a m/t radial.i will drive this car on the street roughly 100 miles a week and would like it to be as reliable as possible. thanks for your advice and opinions in advance-chris

I'd go steeper gears with a magic stick, but I guess you'll be okay with nitrous

Why full weight? I want to go 11.50s with the stock engine n/a. There are 100's of pounds of non-vital **** in the car.

SLP long tubes are pretty much the worst LT you can get.
you should be able to go 11.50's with just the stall and a 150 shot.

sux2bu,can i ask why you say the slp's are the worst out there? i've heard nothing but praise from a few guys that are running them. not knocking what you say, just wondering what your experience was with them. i see your running a 8.8,how did you get that to bolt in? i'd assume it was out of a 99 up car do to its wider width.thanks-chris

They hang incredibly low and even scrape on non lowered cars. they have been called the Spaghetti Long Tubes cause the "equal length" primaries snake around. if the search was working you could see that many guys have swapped from SLP's to hookers or pacesetters (same 1 3/4" primaries) and whatnot and picked up power.
and the 8.8 was built custom by som,e guy who ripped a bunch of people off. it broke and her never fixed it for me so i had to weld it back together myself. I wish i would have spent the extra $300 i saved and bought a Strange 12 bolt. i could have saved myself a HUGE headache. IT IS NOT WORTH IT trying to put an 8.8 in an F body.
