Default Drag Wheel and tire question

What is the biggest tire that I can fit on the rear of my car with a set of 15" X 10" Prostars with 7.5" bs? I am planning on using MT ET Street Radials. I was just curious what is the absolute biggest size I can fit without narrowing my rear end or mini-tubbing. I have a Moser 12 bolt rear(3.73's) and I am not looking at using any kind of spacers. I was thinking 275/50 R15 or 275/60 R15, but after searching a few posts on here I see people using bigger tires with similar set-ups. Is that the right backspacing if I use those tires? I have already done the BFH mod to the inner fender wells and removed the metal bracket from the bumpstops because I have 17" X 11" wheels on the rear for the street.

Also for the front tires I am planning on going with some 15" X 3.5". What backspacing would I have to get to run these. Would I have to use spacers at all on the fronts?

One more question for you guys. Right now I use a set of 16" Firebird wheels with 27" ET streets on them. How would going to a 28" tire efect my 1/4 mile times? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

275-60-15 MT DR's will fit easily, they are comparable to a 28x11.5x15 ET Street.

Now a 325-50-15 Might be tight on the inside.

I've run 28x10x15 ET Drag on my Formula, on 15x10/7.5 Pro Stars.

Check out www.wheels.ls1tech.com, it's a wheel gallery I am putting together.

I'm running 28W's on my Bogarts now, so I know that 325 DR's will fit without issues, since both are like a 28x11.5 slick (12 inchs wide.).

And the taller tire will lower your rpms.

That was the other thing I was wondering I was buying them used and was going to call SJM tomorrow to see if they fit a stock width rear.

Thanks for the update.

Yep, I am making my car a straight drag radial car when I get back. Plus I am going to try and put it on a small diet. Add a few more go fast parts and smoke Rich's new Supra he is building! That guy is such a clown!
