Remove front sway bar for skinnies??

Default Remove front sway bar for skinnies??

Hello yall i plan on running some skinnes. Somone suggsted to me that I need to remove the front sway bar to run skinny tires at the track. IS this true? I rather leave it on there.

Should work okay with the skinnies and teh sway bar on right? I rather leave um on./

They probrably suggested it for better weight transfer and alittle weight reduction off the nose. It's not something you have to do, just something that alot of people choose to do. You will be fine leaving it on.

You can leave it on, and they fit (mine did). But hell while your working in that area, just take it off anyway.

my buddy did it on his ss at mir and said he didnt notice the difference, i guess its all personal preferance!

I guarantee if you remove the sway bar and get some sticky tires you will notice. I pulled 1.8's w/ the sway bar on MT DR's and then 1.6's with the sway bar removed. Either they preped the track that much better or the swaybar helped. Leaving it on keeps the front suspension connected and makes it harder to transfer weight. IMO take it off and try it out, it'll take maybe 20 minutes to remove the whole thing or you can just disconect the end links if you want to keep the sway bar on your car for DD/cornering reasons.

I droped the sway bar but left the STB.. with the skinnies the STB took most of the shake out of the front on the top end.. Maybe its just physological but it works for me..

Cool i guess ill leave it on. What way is better to put the
skinnies on? Jack in the middle of crossmember and install them? Jack up the car at the track by the frame rails on at a time?

I took the swaybar off my car and left it off. I got used to it and never really noticed a difference after a while. I never worried about cornering hard anyways. But either way the skinnies will work.

Depends what your running for a spring and shock combo. In the front I have QA1 Rs and Hypercoil springs. Since the compression is farely stiff with this set up, I barely noticed a differance when I pulled off the sway bar.

the stupid thing is skinnies will make the car MUCH MUCH more unsafe than removing the swaybar. i've had mine off of both of my f-bodies and never had any regrets, i definetly noticed the weight transfer during the launches. i say ditch it- if you don't like it put it back on but i guarantee you hardly notice it is off, if at all.

I took mine off tonight and it feels the exact same when driving regularly. If i pull the wheel hard left and right you can feel the body roll. Obviously with there being no need to pull hard in one direction everyday, im very happy with how it feels. Went to an open street and got on it, felt a little more transfer. Ill put my meats and skinnies on tommorow and then go take her for a test spin.
