Default v6 springs in the rear

want my car to squat more in the back, so i added some V6 springs off a 96 V6. They are noticeable softer and my car sits so much lower in the back (spring cup also removed) that my cutout will scrape speedbumps much more (it's low because of my exhaust configuration). Do you think that I will see an improvement in my launching and 60' times?

Id say put a tire on it and dump that 2.73.

You really do not want the rear to "squat", that is counter productive to hooking. You want a stiff rear suspension so it hits the pavement harder when you launch, by using softer springs your differential will now be able to tuck itself up in the body ... pulling the rear up off the ground and causing you to loose traction. We are using the stock springs still, and with our old setup we lifted the front tires pretty good.

Thats kinda what I was thinking. I am trying to get mine to quit squating so much. The right rear drops alot and the left front lifts pretty good. I am working on getting it to launch level and to push the body up in the rear instead of down.

Are you using QA1 shocks? That will let you stiffen the rear by adjusting the shock valving.

If you axle is twisting upon launch (passenger side tucks up, while the driver side seperates from the body), then you need a heavy duty rear sway bar to keep the car level. We use a Wolfe drag bar to keep our car straight out of the hole.

I've got QA1 shocks up front, but hopefully will be getting them for the back soon. I'm trying to hold out on the heavy duty rear sway bar until I get the new rear end. I'm gonna try a set of drag bags as a temporary fix.

"squatting" is counterproductive to weight transfer, put the factory springs back in
you do not want a soft rear end.
put a air bag in the pass rear spring and play around with different shock settings
if you want to go the cheap route

Ive found my car gained from more squat!? It hates to be stiff... if i tighten my QA1 shocks any my 60's get higher. I do have bad body roll.. tried to tighten right rear shock but it ruins my cars 60 foot... i have a wolfe sway bar on order to try that.. I cut 1.55's on no rear sway squating the right rear almost draging bumper softest shock settings both sides... 1.60's with stock sway softest settings.. and 1.7-1.8's with any stiffer shock settings than 2 clicks with and without rear sway. The body roll is holding me back. I float the front left wheel fighting the steering wheel. hopefully i can use the new rear sway to preload the car better. this is on a cam only 02 ta, auto, yank 4400, 4.10 gears

If you can get your car to cut 1.5's youll see 11's may be able to pull weight to hit it as well.

It takes some travel to transfer weight. If your car has no travel your ganna get tire spine or wheel hope. And as long as you have tire spin your not getting the best out of your 60ft. Half the time your car dont break the beams at the track until the susp has traveled. So your relly not loseing that much. For guys with these kinda cars with low pro tires we need some travel helps transfer weight and thats what plants the tires. Now im not sayig let it go as far as it can but it does need some and you can adjust it in diffrent ways like travel limeters for the front or a good ajustable rear shock. As for runnig two diffrent springs i would never do that it will plant one tire harder than the other. And to fix the roll get a antiroll bar bmr makes them. I set up four linkes, ladder bars and do alot of ten five tire cars and all of them have some travel.
