Default Tubing thickness.

What is the thickness and size of roll cage tubing most people use that will pass NHRA tech?

Trying to order some tubing to make some things with.

depends on the actual bar of the cage (some can be smaller), but the main structure needs to be min wall of .083 (CM) or .118 (MS). A full cage needs min 1 5/8" OD and a bar needs min 1 3/4" OD.

Thanks Harlan. I was looking for thickness on the mild steel numbers..

Looks like im gonna be getting some 1 3/4 tubing with .120 thickness.

With Mild steel you need to get .134 wall. The way the tolerances run .120 wall may not hit the .118 minimum.
