Rev the car up more, slip the clutch more. You should be able to cut 2.0's easily.

With out sticky tires and track, you are going to have a hard time. If you want to run on street tires then you going to have your work cut out for you at the track.

stop heating those tires up so much. street tires do not like to be hot. if you dont already have LCA's get some. i think they will fix your problem.

I agree with not heatng them up all that much. I pulled around the burnout box and just did a quick 1st gear dump to clean them off, nothing more. Like I said, 2.0's should not be a problem for your car with the power you're making on a 245/50/16 tire. Dont be afraid to ride the clutch out to get it moving.

ive tried all of that, my first race i didnt heat them up at all, then i tried doing a big *** burnout, ive tried everything from reving to like 2600rpms and slipping the clutch but by the time its all the way out and im flooring it they still spin and ive tried just easing it out at a little over idle, but i know drag radials will solve this so thats not the problem im so worried about

the thing i want to fix is the swaying of the *** end, the back feels so loose when i hit gears. im not sure what i should do, i know some SFC would help keep the body stiff, but what else should i do?

Tire pressure and balancing might solve the swaying.
Could the track have been wet?

I had a darting problem on launch that was cured by a Drag bar.

I usually launch at 3000-3500 in my car, and all i get out of the tires is a chirp when i finally let the clutch fully out. But I'd check and make sure the tire pressures are the same for both axles.

i lowered the pressure when i got there, they had 28psi a side, is there anything suspension wise that woud help it stay more solid and straight

the track was fine, just not real sticky, i think its the car...

or the driver

How old is your fuel filter? I went from 14.4 to 13.6 with lid, fra, and new fuel filter. If it has more than 30k miles on it I would change that. It looks like your launch is ok, basically you need to keep the RPMs up by slipping the clutch, or letting the tires spin a little in 1st ( be careful about walls though). my best 60' is 2.1 on same size tire, and same mods. just wait for Drag radials and see how the change the performance off the line. Then I would worry about serious suspension mods.

Hope this helps

my fuel filter was 1 day old at the tie of race, i changed my trans fluid, engine oil, and rear end fluid the week before i went.

hopefully the FTRA and lid will help a little bit, and i do plan on getting drag radials for when i go back on the 19th, then maybe with a good 60ft i can get close to the 12s.

im definately getting some SFC pretty soon, i just dont like how th *** end sways when i hit gears, i even feel it when i hit third a lot, it just feels wierd, im not worried about traction, because i know some tires can help that, i just want the car to feel tighter and not all wobbly
