Has anyone ever removed the upper panhard bar? Is it needed for a drag only car?I know you need the one that locates the rear to the frame, but what is the function of the top one?
Thanks

I thought about removing it but didn't know how important it was to have.

I thought to myself, self, that picture looks like my suspension then I realized it was!

Yes I removed that bar and I feel its fine to remove it for a drag car. If you drive your car everyday you might want to think twice before removing it.

If you are running stock style suspension, you HAVE to have something to mount the panhard bar to, if he removed that mount, you have nothing to go to.

No problem, I did the same thing when i was building my car. Its great to have access to seeing how others did this or that when you are building a car or when trying to give an idea to your builder..

Good luck with yours!

yea that was my old setup with the tranny cooler but that is what that is/was. The fuel pump/filters were out of the car in that photo, they sit on that bracket mounted to the frame.
