Long Night at the Track - ABS INOP issues? A group of friends and I went to the local 1/4 mile strip the other night, and it was pretty dead so we got a BUNCH of runs in. The car performed well, but I did have an issue with the ABS INOP light.
After my third or fourth run, I noticed the ABS INOP light on during my return to the "pits". I got under the car and checked to make sure everything was OK, and it was. I refired the car and drove it up and down the return road - the light turned off.
A few passes later, it did the same, with the same result. By the end of the night, it was doing it during every pass. It'd always turn off after a little bit of regular driving.
I am doing a 3-5 sec ~5500RPM burnout in 2nd gear before each run. Could this add to the ABS INOP problem?
Anybody know what the problem is/how to fix it - or is this normal?

Samt thign happens when a car is on the dyno, the computer sees the rear tires turning alot faster then the fronts... you leave the burnout box and hit the brakes, rear tires probably still spinning, and the computer thinks the ABS isn't doing what it is supposed to be doing, because teh rear tires are moving at a faster rate then the fronts and the brakes are on. If you are running 2 different height tires ( like a bigger rear tire/slick) it will do it when you hit the brakes after passing thru the traps.
The computer is getting confused that's all.. you're brakes are probbaly fine. I'd just check the pads next time you have the tires off, if all looks good, pay no attenion.

Is there any downside to having this happen? When the code is thrown, it doesn't do any other weirdo things in the computer does it?

Doesn't hurt anything.. just a light teling you the front and rear tires aren't travelling at the same speed, no harm done.
