Most do like to go thru the dash but just thought of posting it to show there are optional ways as well...

Again nice install on your cage.....
I thought about that but didn't think it would be legal. Also thought the cross bar against the firewall was required.

Would you PM me what you paid for that?

You dont need the dash bar unless the firewall has been altered. Quite a few mustangs around here have the bars like that so I imagine its legal. Only bad thing about that is if you ever need to take the dash out you are kinds screwed

Cage looks good OutlawZ.

I finally relocated the battery and I'm pissed because the cable they give you with the taylor kit is like 6" too short for the way I have the switch mounted - always something lol.

Good point KP, I also think it would be a cleaner install.

As for the battery, I ended up buying like 40ft of 1/O welding cable and made my own harness. Looks OEM. .

Now that the car won't see anymore street duty regularly I need to move it over to the passenger side. Here we go again

Thanks.... Yeah I checked over and over about it and then thought to myself... Wait a minute this is Chris Alston chassisworks and why would they sell me something that isn't legal. They build chassis' for some of the fastest streetlegal doorslammers all over the world.... I checked with Chris Jr himself and he said it's way legal....

Anyone who thinks that punching the bar through a little chincy *** plastic dash is gonna make it stronger is wrong.... Same strength different location.... It's really just personal preference at that point. And where the three bars come together they reinforce each other.... i'll pm you on price....

well i know im gonna here it for this but its not the same strength, everytime you bend a bar you weeken it, and now you have a second bend in the front bar[plus it makes it harder to get in and out of car]
like you said personal preference, but a bar with the least bends is always stronger,
even though it is legal, here our NHRA guys are trying to stop the bending of bars like that ,because of my first sentence ,or they ask to have a bar to support that second bend, like you said its not illegal, but it not as strong ,if that car lands on roof it got a better chance of bending on the lower bend as it is allready bent to crush,in that direction, bob

Not going to 'hear it' from me Bob lol.

Thats true about the bends, and without a bar connecting both sides together its really not all the strong but its legal. I was going to leave the dash cross bar out of mine because 'legally' it didnt need to be there but its amazing how much stiffer it is with that one bar in there compared to it not being there.

Minimum requirements to be legal is exactly that, minimum

I call Bob my Dad #2!!!

Bob did the 10pt in my car 2 years and just finished my new rear, tubs and suspension work. I take Bob's word for everything he says, he would never steer someone wrong, even if he doesn't like them, LOL!
