Can't Hook Anymore Since I got the new engine in. I can't hook anymore.
So now I have to make some changes.
I currently run ET Streets on 17" wheel. Plan on switching to a 16" wheel and ET Drags.
Suspension is all BMR with Eibach springs and Blisteins.
Thinking of going back to the stock springs on the rear.
What else can I do? My normal 60' is 2.0 or higher. Once in a while I will get a 1.9

Hey Ed. Good to hear from you. I can't believe you're running 17's on that beast of yours. Going to 16's will help but I really think you'll see the best results out of 15's. I'm running 275/50-15 MT radials and hook or barely spin most every time. 1.59-1.62 60' times. However, I'm down major league power on you now. Still, I'd bet you'd dead hook on some 325/50-15's or maybe even the 275's. Everybody's hooking on the 325's. Most are hooking with the 275's but a few people are spinning them. I was running some itty bitty 26x9.5x16 QTP's on stock salad shooters and hooking every time with those. They were just too small and the car swayed like a boat on the open ocean on the top side with those. I've recently picked up a set of 26x11.5x16 ET Streets mounted on salad shooters I'm going to try probably next Friday. I'm pretty sure they're going to dead hook.

I started out with 17" cause I wanted to keep the car looking as stock as I could on the outside. But now, I want better times.
Don't you have to grind to get 15" on the rear? I was thinking about trying 26x11.5x16 ET Streets. (Since I already have the wheels) They are the same size as I am running the the 17" but hopefully with more sidewall it will help.

Unless you get Bogarts specifically designed for a 4th gen, unfortunately you're going to have to grind the caliper a tad to mount 15" rims. I ran the 26x9.5x16 Hoosier QTP on some salad shooters going for the same "all stock" look you're going for. I had the salad shooters all the way around. The Hoosiers hooked like mad and only weighed 17 pounds so I got a double gain from going with them. I consistently cut high 1.5/low 1.6 60's with them with a best of 1.57. The larger 26x11.5x16 MT ET Streets should hook even better if for no other reason than the extra 2" of tread width. I still haven't tried my 26x11.5x16's MT's yet but they've got to hook pretty good. If you don't want to grind your calipers or dish out the bucks for the Bogarts, this and the 28x11.5x16 Hoosier QTP is about your only option.
