Default Launching with McLeod Twin DIsk

How should I launch with my mods listed? I've read many post about slipping the clutch, but I've also heard your supposed to dump the McLeod Twin Disk clutch.

BTW, how high should I rev it with these mods and stock weight of 3685?

No one knows. No description of your mods would provide enough information. You need to experiment. Good luck, have fun.

Launch at 3000 rpm and complete your run. If, after your run you are satisfied with your sixty time, then you’re a natural - don’t change anything. If you are not satisfied, then you should decide to change something before your next run. In order to keep track of changes you will make, you should write your sixty time in a notebook and write 3000 rpm next to it. Also record other relevant information such as rear tire pressure and whether your engine bogged or your tires spun. Label all of this information “Run 1” and then draw a line underneath it. This information should help you decide what to change before your next run. If your engine bogged on the previous run then you might decide to launch at a higher rpm on your next run. If your wheels spun, you might decide to launch at a lower rpm – or you might decide to lower your tire pressure. Whatever you decide, it is important to make only one change to avoid confusion. Make as many runs as you can and record the results and conditions of each run. You should soon begin to discover conditions that give the best results. Good luck, have fun.

Gary Z - Thanks.

My main concern is whether to dump the clutch or slip it out. I thought I read somwhere that you shouldn't slip the McLeod Twin Disk.

Can anyone confirm this?

Low sixty times are achieved with a combination of wheelspin and a slipping clutch. This remains true whether or not the clutch is deliberately slipped. Pro-Stock cars with sixty times below one second use multi-disc clutches that are designed to provide controlled slip. You may or may not need to deliberately slip your clutch in order to launch well – only experimentation will answer your question.
