line locks are intended for those with manuals. Not autos. If you have an auto,..your only enemy while attempting a burn out is the Traction Control System(TRS). While theres a way arround this,.......if you want to just simply turn it off and you don't have a switch(many of us don't have a switch to turn it on and off) then SLP sells a TCS Module for our cars.

Bull. LL can be used by an auto too. Many auto's used them at the track. I am considered getting one for my car. Cheers.

If you don't have a traction control switch you don't have traction control. There is no such thing as a TCS/ASR 4th gen f-body without a switch from the factory.
The SLP traction control module is designed to reverse the TCS/ASR on default to TCS/ASR off so that you don't have to reach down and do it yourself.

And powerbraking an auto to do a burnout is pure hell on the rear rotors. When you press the brake pedal all of the brakes come on then your stomping the gas to overcome the rear brakes. When the burnout is done you could cook your dinner on the rotors.

Get a line lock.

from my understanding on auto's if you have an auto with the line lock your not using your brakelines to hold the wheels still while stalling up for a launch or while heating up the tires before a race. ive heard of people blowing there brake lines because they were putting to much strain on them sitting at the tree stalling up there car. my thats my understanding, and thats why im getting upgraded lines and a line lock system.

I usally just go in the water box, hit the gas and spin the tires and pull out of the water box and then hit the break just enough to hold the car and do the burnout on the dry section. I go through first a bit and hit second and thats it. I do about a 5 - 7 second burnout and she is ready to hook and I don't have a line lock yet but one is on order just to keep the brakes from burning
up

The trans am cuts low 1.7s 60ft just about every run on mid 12s

Put a line lock on it. Doing a brake stand burnout puts an awful lot of stress on all rotating parts, including our weak rear end and transmission.
