It looks like you either knew he would eventually put out the name of the cage builder or you knew you fucked up & wanted to try to save some face.

You just made yourself look bad by posting in the fashion you chose.

Alright, back on track with some technical discussion.

The first picture shows how the #1 bar was cut and contoured around the frame. It is completely finish welded. The issue is the bar being cut and not running completely across the car. In order to pass that section needs to be cut out and the bar run completely across the car. Is that true to the rules or is it an interpretaion of one chassis guy compared to another?

Madman? NRC? Is there any light you guys could shed based on your interpretation of the rules around the construction of the number 1 bar? Do I have a leg to stand on with a different certification guy or should I get the plasma cutter out tonight?

Let's keep this on topic, I edited my first post which could have been argumentative. I just need to figure out what I should do next to get this thing certified.

Thanks,

Tom

Tom I dont see any other inspectors passing it. The rule is pretty straight forward on the #1 bar. The bad part is that is the main bar that the cage starts with. I would have to see the car to come up with a reasonable fix IF its possible.

I just forwarded this post to Bob at NRC. He will respond when he gets out of the shop.

I think everyone here should keep their nose in their own business. If you weren't directly associated with this situation, then stay out of it, unless you are contributing to the technical aspect of it.
