Default Can I pass tech

do you think I can pass tech inspection at the drag strip with a cracked wind shield? I did something retarded and lost my passenger side mirror and cracked the window.Im not very proud of this, but I guess I get what I deserve.

I guess that depends how strict the tech department is at your local dragstrip. I've seen them be picky on the guys that are jerks to the tech personnel.

Depends on how severe of a crack and the location. When i had to race my dads intreped it had a crack all the way across the winshield, but it was low. They said if it was a little higher they wouldnt have let me through.

NHRA rules say no cracks in glass.

Fix it, it's a safety issue IMHO.

Yep, at our track (IHRA) any kind of crack or big chip is a huge no no. I had a hair or something on my windshield once that looked like a small crack (more like a scratch) and the tech noticed it. I don't think I would even want to run with a crack in my windsheild.

I did get the windshield fixed and ran it this year. Could only get a best of 13.7 out of it on 19" street tires.
