Default k member and 60'

Did installing a k member drop anyone's 60'? Mine is ready to go in when I get the new cam in here. I am installing this k-member and I haven't been to the track without the a/c either. So I'm thinking that it is going to put on a show. Or am I just getting excited about nothing?

it did NOT help me that much. i did bmr k-member and a-arms 42lbs off the nose. i did 1.51 best before and now 1.47 best. i just installed the bmr rear sway anti-roll bar under the car so i can preload the suspenshion on the luanch and stop twisting as much. i hope to get in the neighborhood of 1.40-1.41 60's next month.

The anti roll bar is a necessity? I have a buddy that is about to install one. He is running a procharged car with a 4l80. I am interested to see the results. I have a nitrous/stroker combe with a th350 and t-brake. I haven't had a chance to use the brake at the track yet. I have not got out of the 1.5's yet. But that was on drag radials and I am on 28x10.5 slicks now. Looking forward to my next trip to the track.

It has to help, doesn't it? I've taken the a/c off as well. All this stuff has to add up at some point. I'm thinkin a kirkey is my next mod.

By itself I personally don't think it does much, but coupled with other mods it pays off.

the k-member is unsprung weight so the car doesn't have to suport the weight of it. that is why there must be no gain. when i removed the a/c,air system and the front sway i lost close to 60lbs and gained 1.9 tenths in the 1/4mi. the k-member really did'nt do much for the money i spent and the frontend doesn't want to stay alinged.

Mike,

I don't mean to be hard headed or anything but, it should help my weight transfer. Or my thinking may be totally off.

N20-that it SHOULD help. but again,it did nothing for me and i have a-arms also. so for the money i hope you can gain more from the k-member then i did. for the cash you may be able to find better performance spending it elsewhere.

I may be wrong, but it seems that the weight is in the lower a-arms, and not the k-member itself.

Installing a bmr k-member is especially a good idea if you go to an iron block, to help offset the added weight.

Buy the kmember and a-arms.. Frees up space, knocks off weight, and looks a lot better. Yeah you can buy something that gives you more power for less than the price of suspension parts, but you will NEED the suspension parts in the long run when it comes to weight distribution, hooking up, and cutting weight from the car..

my bmr piece felt a lot lighter than the stock k-member. It has to help out somewhere in there.. it free'd up a lot of space, especially when it came to getting those kooks 2inch headers in there

I did not get the A-arms because i did not have the money.

i got rid of my a.i.r system, air conditioning and front sway and gained 1.9 tenths all day long for free. i also cut 1.51 60's on motor w/my stock k-member/a-arms. free up space? who cares, for $1,000 bucks spend the $$$$ on real performance.
