So I swapped my A4 for a glide...
If not I would consider one.
Derek
The only downside to the glide over the A4 is the lack of a lockup converter... notice how my shiftlight comes on 3 full seconds before the traps... with the A4 it would only come on about 1 second before the traps... I will need to play with the rear end gearing when adding more spray... you can see that I am picking up more MPH in the 2nd half of the track NA than on the spray... the car just fell on it's face after the 1000ft mark...
Really great et. Congrats

On the spray all bets are off though, the glide would probably be more consistent and easier to dial in the chassis (less of a hit)

Thanks... and congrats on your car as well!
I don't understand how my 1st to 2nd shift affects the RPM at a certain trap speed... my shift light comes on (6800RPM) as I go through the traps @ 133MPH running on the motor... with the spray I picked up 12MPH in the 1/8th but only 9MPH at the top end... compared to picking up 10MPH in the 1/8th and and 13MPH at the top end with my A4 and lockup converter... With my current gearing, you can see the car falling on it's face at the top end... I think 3.73's and a little more spray might be the ticket
Congrats again.

Find out from your converter manufacturer what the % slippage is with the converter. Then multiply that factor into your calc's after you account for tire growth at the big end. (You'll get ~1.5 inches of tire growth with that 28 inch tire and 147mph)
So if you have 90% efficient converter the calcs would be approx
29.5 inch tire accounting for tire growth
7500rpm
4.10 gear
1:1 gear in the trans
mph = 160
160mph x .90 = ~144mph factoring in converter slippage at 7500rpm
