Question need a fire jacket for 4th gen with nitrous?

I was down at KCIR today and before I could even make a pass I was booted out of the lanes for not having a fire jacket

I was like wtf? 1st time I have ever been told I needed one. I have the blowdown tube, I thought that was all I needed, I guess I was wrong. I have been to 4 tracks this year and ran nitrous every time without any of the officials saying I needed the jacket.

I rolled right back over to tech to ask the guy, he directed me to the tower. Old tower guy tells me "if the bottle is in the car you need a fire jacket, been a rule for 2 years"
me-"can i see it in the rule book?"
him-"i dont have time to look it up"
me-"give me the book I'll look it up"
other tower guy-"since jan this year the rule states you need it if the bottle is in your car"
me-"he just said 2 years!"
me-"so every fbod and vette driver has a jacket on?"
....no comment.....

Now I could have been wrong, I think my main beef was them not being able to point this out, or give me the reference. Just "2 years ago, and this year".

Good thing I rolled down there with Parish or I would have been assed out for a jacket.

So can someone clarify this for me?
Thanks

Yeah no doubt, it was chilly, I dont mind the fact of wearing the jacket, if I need one, I need one. But if I dont, hell then I dont.

from the looks of their website they're private, i tried to get their rulebook but every link on the piece of **** site is fucked up and no rulebook in sight, on the track that i go to here the NHRA logo is right on the front so i know they have to abide by that rule book but i saw neither NHRA or IHRA anywhere on that site

I have both the NHRA and IHRA rulebooks here and they both state that any car, no matter how slow, that has aftermarket forced induction, modified factory forced induction, or nitrous (whether it's inside the car or not) has to have a fire jacket.
