You'd probably have to bolt the tabs to the plastic support... Where the factory nose cover is riveted onto know, along the edge where the front of the hood meets the nose. There's rigid plastic underneath there.

Just make sure you get all the side ones bolted/welded to some metal for safety's sake.

I tried using those things but they were just to flimsy. went to Autozone, spent 35 on 3 packages of hood pin kits, and the hood will not be going ANYWHERE now. MUCH MUCH stronger then before.

No, the plastic fenders on our cars are not sturdy enough.

Here's a pic of how madman does it.

thats nice, what does he use 1/2" tubing? i was tossing around the idea of getting some 1/2" hard brake line and welding the tabd to it and making some brackets to hold it to the fender bolts with, could this be done?

I use 3/8 chromemoly tubing with brackets to grab EVERY fender bolt. Brake line tubing is too soft and will bend too easy.

Why not just bolt the tabs in place with the fender bolts? Maybe Im missing something but welding them to a bar that bolts in place seems a bit overkill. Id just drill a hole and bolt em down, one at a time.

It ties them all together and adds alot more lateral strength than just one bolt on each bracket.

madmans are bad *** but this is what I did. I just bought some 1 1/2inch strips and a piece of c channel. Did some welding and and bolted them by the fender bolts. I was going to clean them up and have them powdercoated or something but I might just leave them alone.
