Quick question about tire size?

I’m taking my car to the Drag Strip soon, and wanted to ask a quick question.

My current tire size is 245/50/R16.

If I went to a 255/50/R16 M/T Drag Radial would it effect my gear ratio at all (slow me down) or no?

I know it’s a stupid question, but I’m just curious.

Basically the middle number is the sidewall height. Being that your going with a wider tire but same sidewall height, your rolling circumferance(sp?) should be the same.

I have the same size combo on my car, you won't notice a difference. The 255's are like 3 10th's of an inch taller, not enough of a difference to really change anything.
